Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas seeks a Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer to join the Engineering team.

You will authorize dispositions for nonconformances and work on complex aircraft components, including machined parts, sheet metal, weldments, composites, and large assemblies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, investigate root causes, and implement design and process changes to improve producibility and maintain quality.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Engineering degree required.
• 5+ years of engineering experience required.
• Experience with Material Review Board in aerospace production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent MRB as part of Engineering in aerospace production/preproduction environments.
• Dispositions for production nonconformances per FAA and OEM requirements.
• Dispositions on aircraft components under rapid production schedules with single signature authority.
• Work with machined/sheet metal parts, weldments, non-metals, composites, and large assemblies and systems integration.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to meet engineering and manufacturing initiatives.
• Investigate root causes and recommend resolutions for design discrepancies.
• Manage projects and facilitate communication across disciplines.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Communicate decisively and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness.
