Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS, is seeking a Material Review Engineer to support MRB activities for aerospace production.

You will formulate, analyze, and document dispositions for nonconformances under FAR and OEM requirements, and you will lead or participate in cross-functional teams to resolve root causes. The role requires a BS in Engineering (ABET) by July 31, 2027, MRB experience preferred, and familiarity with CATIA V5.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or will have completed required degree by July 31st, 2027.
• Experience with Material Review Board in aerospace production environment.
• Knowledge of CATIA V5 programs.
• Experience reading and interpreting aircraft maintenance documents, engineering repair design, and repair substantiation with airlines, FAA Part 145, or OEM liaison.
• Systems thinking to improve maintainability and resolve component performance problems.
• Knowledge of production and design processes and standard repair methods.
• Ability to develop innovative revisions to design and manufacture of machined parts, sheet metal parts, welded assemblies, non-metals, and composites.
• Skill in initiating design and process changes.
• Ability to communicate effectively, act decisively, and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness.
• Ability to develop, implement and integrate technical curriculum.

Responsabilidades

• Material Review Engineers represent the entirety of Engineering as MRB members in aerospace production environments.
• Formulate, analyze, substantiate and document dispositions for production nonconformances per FAR and OEM requirements.
• Utilize independent authority for dispositioning nonconformances on aircraft components under rapid production schedules.
• Base decisions on knowledge of design and manufacture of parts, weldments, composites and assemblies.
• Be self-motivated, able to act decisively and demonstrate innovation in MRB roles.
• Apply systems-thinking to improve producibility and resolve production problems.
• Investigate root causes and recommend resolutions to design discrepancies.
• Manage projects and lead or participate in cross-functional teams.
