Job summary

Wettermark Keith is seeking a Junior Accountant for our Birmingham office to manage and process settlement transactions. This full-time, in-person role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with the finance team.

You will review settlement statements, maintain accurate records, reconcile accounts, assist in month-end close, and prepare reports on trust and settlement activity.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Process client settlement and ensure timely payments.
• Review and verify settlement statements for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of transactions.
• Reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end closing activities.
• Prepare and maintain reports on trust and settlement activities.
• Communicate effectively with team members and internal departments.
• Support the finance team with other accounting tasks as needed.
