Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking an accounting professional to perform a wide range of tasks under general supervision. You will prepare general ledger entries, review reconciliations, and support month-end close while ensuring GAAP compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and up to 1 year of experience. Hybrid/onsite work options available; relocation may be considered for Kansas/Missouri residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording transactions.

Responsibilities

• Compute, analyze, and record financial transactions in the general ledger.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets supporting general ledger balances and financial reporting.
• Review monthly financial statements for GAAP compliance and governmental standards.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes and variance analysis.
• Investigate discrepancies and assist audits.
