Job summary

The Accounting division of Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller seeks an Accountant I/Finance to handle general accounting functions, prepare financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance. This full-time, non-supervisory role reports to the Accounting Manager and supports multiple funds.

Qualifications include a bachelor degree or higher in a related field, with 3 years of experience preferred and professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produces monthly financial statements and periodic reviews for assigned funds and fund groups.
• Produces annual financial statements for assigned funds.
• Maintains the general ledger and related subsidiary accounts in accordance with GAAP.
• Utilizes current financial accounting software to manage general ledger tasks with guidance as needed.
• Participates in cross training to support division operations.
• Ensures timely completion of periodic accounting tasks.
