Job summary

Ledgent is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant in California to support high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable, vendor management, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, excellent Excel skills, and the ability to work accurately under deadlines in a team environment.

This is a full-time on-site role paying $25-28 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 1-3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and accurate data entry/typing skills.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and accounts payable processes.
• Experience with accounting software; Shelby and SQL reporting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable for multiple departments/locations.
• Review invoices, verify account coding, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Maintain vendor records, including W-9 and 1099 documentation.
• Reconcile A/P aging reports and balance sheet accounts.
• Process employee reimbursements, petty cash, mileage, and corporate credit card expenses.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expense entries, and account reconciliations.
• Support month-end close, year-end close, and audit preparation activities.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
• Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
