Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Settlement Team. You will drive financial accuracy in settlement reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities, ensuring timely, compliant operations across the business.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accountancy, at least 1 year of accounting experience, and strong Excel skills with familiarity in Oracle, Frontier, SAP, or similar systems. A CPA is a bonus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • At least 1 year of accounting experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, or general accounting activities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Oracle, Frontier, SAP, or similar systems.
  • Ability to analyze discrepancies, manage priorities, and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive financial accuracy and operational excellence in settlement reporting, reconciliations, and accounting activities.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve financial variances to minimize risk and ensure compliance with controls and SLAs.
  • Own assigned portfolios, escalate issues, and deliver timely resolutions for smooth financial operations.
  • Support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements to boost productivity and scalability.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation for audits and governance, aiding audit readiness.

What you'll own
  • Drive financial accuracy and operational excellence by ensuring settlement reporting, reconciliations, and accounting activities are completed on time and to the highest standards, supporting informed business decisions and financial integrity.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve financial variances to minimize risk, improve reporting accuracy, and maintain compliance with established financial controls and service level expectations.
  • Strengthen business performance through proactive ownership of assigned portfolios, escalating issues, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering timely resolutions that support smooth financial operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation by supporting system enhancements, process automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies that increase productivity and scalability across the organization.
  • Support compliance, audit readiness, and governance standards by maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring adherence to policies, and helping deliver successful internal and external audit outcomes.
What you'll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • At least 1 year of accounting experience, with exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, or general accounting activities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting platforms such as Oracle, Frontier, SAP, or similar systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze discrepancies, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and take ownership of delivering accurate results in a deadline-driven environment.
It's a bonus if you have
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent professional accounting certification.
  • Experience gained through Big 4 accounting firms, audit engagements, or accounting internships.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools and experience supporting process improvement, system enhancement, or automation initiatives.
