Job summary

Selectek in Smyrna, GA is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the Accounting team with cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close tasks. The role offers $60,000–$65,000 base salary with OT eligibility and generous employee benefits.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 0–2 years of experience, with proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Dynamics 365 BC. Manufacturing cost experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience or internships; or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics 365 BC) preferred.
• Familiarity with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Coursework or experience in financial accounting and/or cost accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support inventory costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
• Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts.
• Help track fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and project cost tracking.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation.
• Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with production and procurement teams on cost-related questions.

We are hiring for a Junior Accountant in the Smyrna, GA area. This position is a detail-oriented role primarily responsible for supporting our Accounting team with cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close activities.

Total compensation includes $60-$65K base salary (OT Eligible) +100% paid Employee benefits and 70% for Family & Children!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record and reconcile daily transactions (AP, AR, general ledger entries)
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support inventory costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis
• Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
• Help track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and project cost tracking
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
• Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation
• Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance reporting
• Collaborate with production and procurement teams on cost-related questions

Required

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0-2 years related experience, including internships; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient in MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, etc.) preferred.
• Familiarity with cost accounting and a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Coursework or experience in financial accounting and/or cost accounting is a plus.
