Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Milan, TN is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will help ensure accurate financial reporting under GAAP and collaborate with a Finance team to improve data quality.

You will gain hands-on experience with general ledger activities, audits, and internal controls while developing Excel, JD Edwards, and Power BI skills in a collaborative environment onsite at the Milan facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Up to 3 years of accounting or related experience; internship considered.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills; JD Edwards/Power BI a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Complete balance sheet, bank, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Support month-end close and reporting deadlines.

Working under the direction of the Controller, you will help maintain accurate financial records while following GAAP, company policies, and internal controls**You would also:*** Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation* Complete balance sheet, bank, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations* Investigate discrepancies and help resolve accounting issues* Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities within established deadlines* Review account activity, trends, and variances, escalating unusual or significant items* Prepare account analyses and supporting schedules for financial and management reporting* Assist with financial statements and internal and external audits* Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records* Prepare Internal Control System statements and related reconciliations* Prepare the monthly RNV report and partner with Procurement to investigate discrepancies* Follow GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and data quality* Build effective working relationships across departments* Other projects and assignments, as needed**The Skills and Experience you need**:* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field* Up to 3 years of accounting or related experience; relevant internship experience will be considered* Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting* Strong Microsoft Excel skills* Experience with JD Edwards, Power BI, or Business Objects is a plus* Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills* High attention to detail with the ability to recognize and investigate discrepancies* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions* Sound judgment and the ability to maintain confidentiality**What we offer!**We believe in creating opportunities and providing benefits that empower you to grow, thrive, and build a rewarding lifelong career with us.
