Job summary

Christian Academy School System – Indiana Campus in New Albany, IN, is seeking a Junior Academy Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site, full-time role supports the classroom teacher and helps manage daily routines for students.

Responsibilities include assisting with lessons, preparing materials, and ensuring a caring, Christian environment. CPR/First Aid training and a criminal records check are required before start; oversight by Preschool leadership is provided.

• Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind

Responsibilities

• Be under the supervision of the Junior Academy Assistant Director and Site Director and cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner
• Assist the classroom teacher
• Care for and treat each child with dignity and respect
• Assist children in getting prepared to leave in the afternoon
• Assist the classroom teacher when needed for break, gathering supplies/materials, or emergency situations involving a child
• Keep the classroom stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch
• Assist in preparation of materials for lessons/activities
• Shall be a substitute teacher when asked by Preschool Site Director
• Attend and participate in Preschool staff meetings
• Participate in training programs/workshops for professional growth to maintain certification
• Attend Annual Orientation/Open House and events sponsored by CAI Preschool
• Assure each child is loved and valued and that God made them special, praying for each teacher and student daily
