Job summary

Christian Academy School System is seeking a Junior Academy Substitute Teacher to work in the Indiana Campus in New Albany. The role involves supporting the lead teacher, preparing materials, and ensuring a caring, faith-based environment for students.

The position is temporary with no benefits. Requirements include a strong Christian testimony, background checks, and basic safety training. Training will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred.
• TB Test is required.
• CPR & First Aid Training required.
• Criminal Records Check required.
• CAN Check required.

Responsibilities

• Be under the general supervision of the Junior Academy Site Director and cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner.
• Assist the classroom teacher.
• Care for and treat each child with dignity and respect.
• Assist children in getting prepared to leave in the afternoon.
• Assist the classroom teacher with breaks, gathering supplies, and emergencies.
• Keep the classroom stocked with paper goods for snacks and lunches.
• Prepare materials for lessons and activities.
• Serve as substitute teacher when requested by Preschool Site Director.
• Attend Preschool staff meetings and trainings as needed.
• Participate in orientation, open house, and events sponsored by CAL Preschool.
• Pray for teachers and students daily and model Christian encouragement.
