Job summary

Christian Academy School System Indiana Campus, New Albany, Indiana, is seeking a Junior Academy Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Be under the general supervision of the Junior Academy Assistant Director and Site Director and cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner.
• Assist the classroom teacher.
• Treat each child with dignity and respect.
• Assist the children in preparing to leave in the afternoon.
• Assist the classroom teacher when needed for break, gathering supplies/materials, or emergencies involving a child.
• Keep the classroom stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch.
• Help prepare necessary materials for lessons/activities.
• Serve as substitute teacher when asked by Preschool Site Director.
• Attend and participate in all Preschool staff meetings.
• Participate in recommended training programs for professional growth as needed to maintain certification.
• Attend and participate in the Annual Orientation, Annual Open House, programs and other events sponsored by CAI Preschool.
• Assure each child is loved, valued, and that God made them special and will pray for each teacher and student daily.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

• Be under the general supervision of the Junior Academy Assistant Director, and Site Director and is to cooperate in a loyal and efficient manner
• Will be responsible for assisting the classroom teacher
• Shall care for and treat each child with dignity and respect
• Shall assist the children in getting prepared to leave in the afternoon
• Shall assist the classroom teacher when needed for the following: break, gathering of supplies/materials, emergency situation involving a child
• Shall keep the classroom properly stocked with paper goods needed for snack and lunch
• Shall help in preparation of necessary materials for lessons/activities
• Shall be substitute teacher when asked by Preschool Site Director
• Shall attend and participate in all Preschool staff meetings
• Shall participate in recommended training programs, workshops, courses, and other aspect so professional growth as needed in order to maintain cortication
• Shall attend and participate in the Annual Orientation, Annual Open House, programs and other events sponsored by CAI Preschool
• Shall assure each child he/she is loved, that they have value, that God made them special (II Tim. 2:15) and will pray for each teacher and student daily

Requirements

Experience working with children (preferred but not required)

The candidate shall prior to start date provide/successfully complete the following:

• CPR & First Aid Training
• Criminal Records Check
