The State of Delaware seeks an experienced Judicial Case Processor II to advance complex processing of court documents and records. You will handle substantial caseloads, ensure compliance with court rules, and coordinate with judicial officers, attorneys, and court staff to maintain accurate records.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to navigate multiple deadlines and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws and procedures.
  • Two years’ experience using automated information systems to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, and report data.
  • Two years’ experience applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Six months’ experience creating reports by combining data from multiple sources.

  • Researches case files, records, databases, and other sources to resolve discrepancies, errors, or other issues.

Summary Statement

This is the advanced level of judicial case processing work, responsible for reviewing, preparing, processing, and maintaining a variety of legal/court documents and records. In addition to work performed at the Judicial Case Processor II level, employees independently perform complex case processing work under minimal supervision. Factors contributing to case complexity may include, but are not limited to, high filing volume; multiple pleadings, motions, orders, hearings, or other case events requiring accurate and timely processing; extensive records and documentation; numerous parties, attorneys, or related cases requiring detailed case maintenance; multiple deadlines and statutory timeframes; specialized filing, notice, or scheduling requirements; complex docket activity; coordination with judicial officers, court staff, litigants, attorneys, and external agencies to facilitate case processing; and matters requiring strict adherence to court rules, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and recordkeeping standards. Courtesy, tact, and effectiveness are required when providing information to and interacting with various court personnel and the general public, and resolving issues on case processing, procedures, deadlines, and complaints.

Essential Functions
  • Prepares and issues a wide variety of court/legal documents and determines the appropriate procedural requirements for processing.
  • Delivers excellent customer service in person, by phone, or electronically; greets customers and provides information on procedures, services, events, or case status to internal and external stakeholders, judicial officers, court users, justice partners, and members of the public attorneys, jurors, litigants, court personnel, and the public.
  • Applies laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures relevant to case processing activities.
  • Reviews, processes, and evaluates case records and documents for completeness, accuracy, eligibility, and compliance with applicable procedures, practices, standards, timelines, and costs.
  • Researches case files, records, databases, and other sources to resolve discrepancies, errors, or other issues.
  • Prepares and maintains files and records, ensuring all required documents are included.
  • Uses automated information systems and computer software to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve, and report on data.
  • Attends hearings and proceedings to provide files, records, and case information to the judicial officer; records event dispositions and administers oaths.
  • May prepare and distribute correspondence, maintain calendars and schedule meetings, hearings, or events; and may compute and collect fees, maintain fiscal records/receipts, or make deposits.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
  • Two years’ experience in document processing such as reviewing and evaluating records for completeness and conformity with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures, resolving deficiencies, and tracking and monitoring activities.
  • Two years’ experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
  • Two years’ experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Six months’ experience in creating reports which includes combining and presenting data from multiple sources in an organized format.
