The Atlantic/Cape May Vicinage is seeking a well-organized, detailed oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support a Superior Court Judge. The selected individual must have strong typing, technical and administrative skills. The selected candidate will operate a computer for processing information, typing correspondence, documents, and form letters, transcribing dictation, and preparing required reports. They will also view and sort mail, letters, and other documents and follow up as appropriate. They will facilitate the movement of case-related matters.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
Three (3)years of experience in an office environment performing a variety of clerical and support services to includekeyboarding and one or more of the following: preparing and analyzing legal documents, processing legal or other documents, transcribing information, andscheduling meetings or appointments.
Substitution: Successful completion of a clerical training program with a minimum of 700 classroom training hours or 30 semester hour credits in secretarial science may be substituted for one (1) year of experience indicated above. Course work must include typing skills, methods, and procedures; other courses may include, but are not limited to, office procedures, word processing, and business English.
Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.
Note: Knowledge of legal terminology and working knowledge of Microsoft Office is helpful.
Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
