Williamsburg-James City County Schools seeks a JROTC Army Instructor (AI) to support the Senior Army Instructor in planning, delivering, and managing the high school's JROTC program in accordance with DoD directives and district policies. The AI fosters citizenship, character development, leadership, responsibility, and academic achievement within a positive learning environment.

The role requires current JROTC instructor certification, eligibility under Army Cadet Command, and able to work

Qualifications

• Eligibility per US Army JROTC requirements and background checks.
• Ability to work effectively with high school students, staff, and community partners.
• Model professionalism and ethical conduct per military and school standards.

Responsibilities

• Delivers JROTC instruction and supports lesson planning with SAI.
• Maintains disciplined, respectful classroom environment and safety.
• Mentors cadets in leadership, accountability, and teamwork.
• Coordinates field trips, ceremonies, and co-curricular activities.
• Maintains cadet records and program documentation per Army commands.

Education

Two-year degree or higher

High school diploma with college credits
