Job summary

UTEC - Universal Tool Equipment + Controls seeks a process-focused engineer to develop manufacturing plans for customer products. The role requires experience with automotive robotic welding systems and the ability to translate drawings into viable processes.

Job description

The Processor evaluates customers products including specifications to develop manufacturing plans and produce the products according to the customer needs.This position requires extensive design & manufacturing expertise as well as an understanding of equipment cost for evaluation purposes.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Interprets automotive product drawings and manufacturing specifications.

Understands ergonomic considerations for proposed processes.

Produces layouts, process descriptions, timing charts, sketches, graphs, content sheets, weld studies and clamping plans for proposed processes either manually or in Autocad.

Maintains knowledge of PC based software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint and be able to apply good drafting and/or AUTOCAD skills.

Works with all Engineering disciplines to verify the viability of processes.

Attends all required meetings to obtain needed information and present processes to UTEC Management and customers.

Exhibits excellent communications skills as well as maintain current technical knowledge.

Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.

Adheres to the Quality System and participate in continuous improvement.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Education and/or Experience

Three (3) years related experience and/or training in automotive robotic welding systems processing and build environment.

Computer Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, \"MS Excel\", PowerPoint and AUTOCAD.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
