Job summary

SERVPRO is seeking a Junior Franchise Compliance Auditor I to perform audits of franchise owners from start to finish, reviewing financial records and royalty reporting. The role includes interfacing with franchise staff and internal departments to ensure accurate postings and compliance.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in finance or accounting, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review Franchises to select and schedule audits based on risk of incorrect reporting of sales.
• Complete in‑house, resale, and voluntary audits in a timely manner.
• Review accounting records (financial statements, bank statements, tax returns) for proper recording.
• Collect materials required for audits and handle audit monies due.
• Correspond with Franchises and staff regarding audit notifications and information needs.
• Prepare audit reports and status updates; participate in special projects.

Job Summary

The Junior Franchise Compliance Auditor I performs audits of franchise owners from start to finish, from selection of Franchises audited to issuance of audit reports and collection of audit findings. In addition to performing audits of franchises, this position is responsible for reviewing other businesses owned by SERVPRO® franchise owners and personal accounts of SERVPRO® owners. The audits are performed primarily in order to determine if franchises are properly reporting and paying royalties. Auditors will provide recommendations to franchises regarding office procedures and bookkeeping.

You will

• Review of Franchises to select and schedule audits of those Franchises determined to be at higher risk of incorrectly reporting sales.
• Complete in‑house, resale, and voluntary audits in a timely basis.
• Review of accounting records, including financial statements, bank statements, and tax returns to determine if transactions are properly recorded.
• Collect materials needed to complete audits and collection of audit monies due.
• Correspond with Franchises and their office staffs and accountants regarding:
• Audit notifications
• Information needed to complete audits.
• Teaching proper posting of transactions.
• Issuance of audit reports.
• Collection of monies due.
• Verbal and written communication with Franchises, Distributors, other Corporate Departments, including our Legal, Credit, and Accounting Departments, and other parties including Executive Management, as needed during audits.
• Preparation of status reports detailing audits and preparation of various other reports.
• Participation in special projects.

You have

• Ability to read, write, and communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
• Must be able to interact verbally (sometimes in difficult situations) with Franchise owners, franchise office staff, and franchise accountants as well as various Corporate staff.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must be knowledgeable in Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
• Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi‑task. Several audits are in process at any given time.
• Must have initiative and perseverance. Must be able to confront and deal with auditees in difficult situations regarding unreported sales.

Education

Associates degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business‑related field required.
