Job description

Position Overview

This is an entry-level position for a detail-oriented, team player with strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. The position reports to the Engineering Manager and works under the supervision and mentorship of staff and senior engineers, along with field technicians, in a collaborative and safety-conscious environment. The duties and responsibilities are dynamic and require both office and field work within Pennsylvania.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with groundwater and vapor treatment system engineering calculations.
• Assist with remediation system and laboratory data tabulation, evaluation, and report preparation.
• Assist with materials, equipment, and supplies specification and procurement.
• Assist with subcontractor scope of work development, coordination, and contracting.
• Assist with cost estimates and support proposal efforts.
• Assist with PADEP permit applications and compliance reports.
• Assist with developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Coordinate, participate in, and complete health and safety-related field observations and documentation.
• Coordinate field tasks associated with operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems, including data collection, system sampling, system cleaning, and carbon replacement.
• Perform field work such as remedial system O&M, pilot testing, remedial in-situ injections, groundwater sampling, environmental and permit compliance sampling, soil excavation, and contractor oversight for trenching, piping, and system installation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil).
• 0-1+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience.
• Resourcefulness with excellent communication and writing skills, high initiative, and strong time management skills.
• Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T) certification is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand tools are a plus.
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and work outdoors in all seasons.
