The Hampton Roads Connector Partners JV (HRCP) consisting of VINCI Construction, Dragados, and Flatiron has been selected to construct the $3.3BN Design Build Marken – the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The project scope across a 9‑mile section of the I‑64 will include a new 3.5‑mile bridge‑tunnel crossing that will accommodate a total of 8 lanes of capacity across the water, replacement of the existing marine approach bridges and the addition of a third lane on I‑64 in each direction. The twin 45‑foot diameter 1.5‑mile tunnels will be bored by TBM, creating the second largest TBM tunnel opening for a TBM in North America.

Responsibilities

• Performs data entry for accounts payable vouchers, invoices, bills and expenses to ensure accurate and timely payment
• Reconcile and prepare subcontractor payment applications
• Establish records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts
• Maintain account sub‑ledgers
• Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department
• Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies
• Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance
• Works closely with the area Senior Accountant to be trained as a backup in their absence

Qualifications

Required

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting from an accredited institution.
• Ability to manage a number of different tasks and projects in an organized and efficient manner.
• Must have excellent work habits to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting rules, regulations and procedures.
• Must be able to work on an active construction job site in an office setting.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Fluent in English with professional proficiency.
