Jefferson Parish Government seeks a Care Attendant Supervisor for the Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS). The role supervises employees attending to animals, coordinates daily operations, and ensures proper administration and documentation.
You will train staff, review work performance, and assist the veterinarian with inoculation and euthanasia under supervision. This is an essential, emergency-duty position with driving responsibilities and a valid license required.

Under direction, performs responsible work involving the supervision of employees engaged in attending to animals. Employees in this classification handle the daily operations and supervision of JPAWS Care Attendant I and JPAWS Care Attendant II's. Position is responsible for training staff, supervising staff, and performing daily administrative activities. This position performs a variety of supervisory duties to include assigning, instructing, and reviewing work of subordinate staff, monitoring work performance, maintaining standards through the effective coordination of activities, and handling various personnel issues. Assists Veterinarian in the administration of inoculation and euthanasia. This position is also an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or their designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.
