Jefferson Parish in Louisiana is seeking a JPAWS Care Attendant I to help care for shelter animals, maintain the facility, and assist the public with pet needs. The role requires rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Duties include feeding and providing water, humane handling, observing health, assisting veterinarians with vaccines and micro-chipping, and entering medical and behavioral data into the Animal Inventory System.

Formación

• Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalency.
• Experience caring for animals is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Attend to animals confined in kennels and care for them (food, water, humane handling).
• Perform cleaning of holding areas and maintain facility.
• Assist in vaccines and micro-chips under veterinarian supervision.
• Assist customers seeking lost pets or those interested in adopting.
• Maintain electronic Animal Inventory System entries and photographs.
