Job summary

St. James Place in Baton Rouge is seeking an attentive waiter to deliver joyful service to residents during scheduled shifts. You will take accurate food and beverage orders, coordinate with the kitchen, set up dining rooms, and maintain cleanliness while delivering friendly, professional hospitality.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1–2 years waitstaff experience, and a strong commitment to customer service; training is provided to ensure standards are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years wait-staff experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service experiences to all patrons in the dining room.
• Must attend Wait-Staff Training class within 30 days after hire date and adhere to the procedures and standards set forth in the training.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Transmit orders to the kitchen staff and keep them informed of meal progression.
• Serve orders and accompaniments, ensuring food quality and temperature.
• Inspect prepared food for appearance and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain dining room setup, stock and clean as needed.
• Respond professionally to patron questions and resolve complaints.
