Job summary

Daifuku Services America Corporation seeks a water cabinet maintenance technician / plumber to maintain and repair industrial plumbing, piping, and hydronic systems. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, shift inspections, cleaning, and responding to customer-site needs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and recertify backflow prevention systems.
  • Install and service pumps, controls, and various plumbing fixtures and piping.
  • Read schematics, operate test equipment, and document work performed.

Job description

Overview

The water cabinet maintenance technician / plumber maintains troubleshoots and repairs industrial plumbing systems, various piping systems and hydronic systems.

Completes basic maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive and routine maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency repairs, shift inspections, audits, cleaning, and any other task requested by the customer site and corporate management.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain flushometers, drain line issues, and the maintenance, repair, and sanitizing of aircraft potable water systems to ensure clean drinking water per Federal and International regulations.
  • Maintain potable water systems providing clean drinking water to domestic and international airline passengers conforming to requirements of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Drinking Water Quality Pool (IDQP), United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Aircraft Drinking Water Rule (ADWR), and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
  • Service, repair, and recertify backflow prevention systems.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of pumps and controls for a variety of sewage lift and de‑watering stations, as well as the water supply to Triturator Systems and their waste discharge.
  • Repairs and services drain and drain systems.
  • Assemble and install plumbing fixtures, valves, fittings, and piping systems.
  • Test various systems for proper operation, assembly, or to diagnose problems.
  • Complete various plumbing repairs and maintenance, including documenting work completed.
  • Utilize computer skills including email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and CMMS computer workorder systems software.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and meters for troubleshooting and repair of boarding bridges, portable water cabinets (PWCs) and other ground support equipment associated with boarding bridges.
  • Read and interpret schematics related to boarding bridges.
  • Work on controls for HVAC systems and air handling units.
  • Understand refrigeration controls and power generation electronic components.
  • Seek direction and training from senior level personnel and accept mentoring.
  • Work in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Follow and comply with all company, customer, and federally established policies and procedures.
  • Successfully and continually complete and maintain all applicable training courses assigned by the company.
  • Maintain all required certificates and licenses needed for performance of the work.
  • Complete all required safety courses.
  • Complete all required forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Comply with all safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties or assignments required by management.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in the operation, maintenance, repair of water systems: water quality testing, inspection, and backflow prevention.
  • Ability to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
  • Required certification for the state.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
  • Previous experience working on passenger boarding bridges.
  • 5+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background.
  • Advanced computer skills.

Computer Skills

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.
  • Must comply with the company Drug and Alcohol policy.
