Job summary

Qualifications

• Understanding drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to adapt to field requirements and act independently without close supervision.
• Must safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Ability to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight limit around 300 pounds for safety.
• No fear of heights.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson/Line Clearance Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining, instructing crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies; conducts safety training.
• Discusses with property owners issues such as access and work scope; refers complex cases.
• Obtains oral or written permission from property owners for required work.
• Maintains accurate records, timesheets, and crew performance reports.
• Controls crew costs and optimizes use of personnel and equipment.
• Furnishes reports to General Foreperson and utility representatives on orders completed and crew activity.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Sets up barriers and warning signs to protect employees and the public.
