Job summary

Trax International, at Dahlgren Navy Base, VA, seeks an Engineer, Journeyman (S) for Test Planning and Management to support RDT&E of weapons systems. You will apply engineering principles across multiple disciplines and coordinate data acquisition for test planning.

Qualifications

• BS in accredited engineering or technical discipline.
• 3 years of design, engineering, test and evaluation of weapon systems components/subsystems.
• Solid foundation in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer or systems engineering.
• Strong understanding of T&E methodologies and techniques.
• Proven ability to use test equipment and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills in a T&E environment.
• Proven ability to think critically and solve complex problems within the T&E process.

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering principles to support RDT&E of weapons systems.
• Performs engineering tasks across disciplines including control systems, electronics, power, instrumentation, RF, mechanical, aerospace.
• Coordinates with Data Acquisition to define instrumentation for data collection during tests.
• Devise new approaches to resolve problems and ensure on-time, within-budget delivery.
• Operates with general instructions and provides independent support on complex projects.
• Reviews objectives and possible solutions for accuracy and completeness.
• Creates technical reports and documentation to communicate progress.
