Job summary

The Delaware River Port Authority Police Department seeks an Equipment Electrician to maintain equipment assigned to the Equipment Department. This is a journeyman position; after orientation you will work independently and may be assigned other tasks during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with electrician training; vocational training completed.
• Four years of experience as an electrician maintaining rail transit vehicles or equivalent.
• Ability to pass an examination on electrical theory.
• Knowledge of safe use of tools, measuring devices, gauges and test instruments.
• Experience with power cleaning, painting equipment, car hoisting, and hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment.
• Inspect traction motors and conduct maintenance including cleaning and testing.
• Inspect and service 37.5VDC battery sets and power supplies.
• Inspect and replace 600VDC cables, grounds and fuses.
• Make on-car modifications including wiring work.
• Contribute to safe work environment through training and PPE use.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
