EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a licensed Journeyman Plumber in Washington, DC to join our government services team.

You will diagnose and remedy issues in water systems, install and repair pipes, valves, fixtures, and related equipment, following code and safety standards. This position requires a Journeyman Plumber License, the ability to obtain an L level security clearance, good customer communication, and experience with CMMS systems like Maximo.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of plumbing experience preferred.
  • Journeyman Plumbing License required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an L level security clearance.
  • Strong communication skills with customers, coordinators and management.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Identify sources of plumbing malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to plan plumbing work.
  • Inspect completed work and ensure clean work areas.
  • Maintain records of materials, labor, and inventory.

Job Summary:EMCOR Government Services is seeking a committed and personable licensedJourneyman Plumber inWashington, DCto complete our team. The journeyman plumber will be required to diagnose and remedy issues pertaining to water valve, new and old installs which may leak, become obstructed or damaged. You should always ensure that services are rendered in a professional, courteous manner to maximize customer retention. To ensure success as a journeyman plumber, you should exhibit impeccable troubleshooting and decision-making skills. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7am – 3pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders.
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
  • Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls, test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks.
  • Receive and complete work orders assigned
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  • Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.Other duties assigned
Qualifications
  • Preferred 6 years’ experience in plumbing.
  • Preferred 2 years with journeyman plumbing and gas license.
  • Extensive knowledge with practical experience in commercial plumbing systems and equipment
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an L level security clearance.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with customers, coordinators, and management.
  • Working knowledge with the use of CMMS system Maximo.
