Job summary

EMCOR Facilities Services is seeking a qualified Plumber to install, inspect and service commercial and industrial plumbing systems. You will read blueprints, follow codes and perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable operation.

You must have a high school diploma with a plumbing apprenticeship and 5+ years of verifiable field experience, plus a valid driver's license and journeyman license. Travel and on-call rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of verifiable plumbing experience in plumbing service & remodel field.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety policies and procedure manuals; write service reports.

Responsibilities

• Install new and replacement equipment and parts per manufacturers specifications.
• Install piping, water lines, drain lines, and process piping systems.
• Maintain and service drains, leaks, hot water systems, boilers, and water heaters.
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, urinals, water heaters).
• Complete site visits and surveys for estimating cost of installation and repair.
• Document timesheets, expense reports, service reports and logs.
• Support safety training and on-call rotation; potential overnight travel.

Job Summary

The Plumber applies theory, code and related knowledge to layout and installation of plumbing systems. Understands sequence of operation, troubleshooting, and reading piping schematics, blueprints and specifications. Plumber performs preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot and service of commercial and industrial plumbing and piping systems. Must be well organized to keep accurate service and maintenance records and communicate effectively to determine needs. Follows all company safety standards and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install new and replacement equipment and parts per manufacturers specifications to honor manufacturers warranties
• Install piping, water lines, compressed air line, drain lines, and process piping systems in accordance with established standards
• Maintenance and service of drain lines, leaks, back flows, hot water systems, boilers, filters, etc. for on demand and scheduled request
• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets, toilets, urinals, water heaters, hot water tanks, and water softeners.
• Complete site visits, site surveys, and investigate site conditions for purpose of estimating cost of installation and repair.
• Complete take off for labor and material needed for purpose of estimating cost of installation and repair.
• Complete documentation, including but not limited to, timesheets, expense reports, service reports and purchase card logs
• Conduct general tasks including, but not limited to, safety training, service on-call rotation, and maintaining tools and vehicles. Potential overnight travel.

Qualifications

Education (HS Diploma, Under/Graduate Degree, etc.)

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent, and completion of a Plumbing Apprenticeship Program

Business Experience (prior years’ work/related experience)

Five plus years of verifiable plumbing experience working in plumbing service & remodel field.

Licenses/Certifications

• Valid driver's license.
• State or jurisdiction Journeyman License

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write service reports. Ability to effectively present information to supervisor and or customer.

Technical Qualifications & Skills

• Knowledge of plumbing systems.
• Basic mathematical abilities in all units of measure.
• Read blue prints and technical schematics as well as specification manuals.

Physical Demands

The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required. Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitively during shift. Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis. Have the ability to work and maneuver on a variety of terrains. Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and hot areas. Work may be located inside or in outside environments. Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
