Job Title: Journeyman Plumber
Job Description

This role focuses on providing high-quality plumbing services to commercial customers, including troubleshooting and repairing existing systems as well as supporting new construction and installation projects. You travel to various customer sites, communicate directly with clients about their plumbing concerns, and perform accurate, efficient repairs and installations that meet industry standards and building codes.

Responsibilities
  • Handle service calls from commercial customers for a wide range of plumbing-related issues.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems in commercial facilities.

  • Perform new construction plumbing work, including installation of piping and fixtures according to blueprints and specifications.

  • Install and repair PVC, cast iron, and other piping materials used in commercial plumbing systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings to plan and execute plumbing installations.

  • Use hand tools and appropriate equipment to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems safely and efficiently.

  • Perform pipe fitting and related mechanical tasks required for commercial plumbing projects.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain issues, recommended solutions, and completed work.

  • Drive to different customer sites in a company vehicle and maintain a professional presence on job locations.

  • Follow all relevant safety procedures and industry standards while working on service and installation projects.

  • Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and materials used, as required by company processes.

Essential Skills
  • At least 5 years of plumbing experience, including troubleshooting or installing plumbing systems.

  • State-certified Journeyman plumber license.

  • Strong experience with commercial construction plumbing projects.

  • Proficiency in both service and installation work for commercial plumbing systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.

  • Hands-on experience with piping installation, including PVC and cast iron piping.

  • Skilled in pipe fitting and use of standard plumbing hand tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and plumbing issues effectively.

  • Eligibility to drive a company vehicle with a clean and valid driving record.

  • Ability to interact professionally with commercial customers and explain technical information in a clear manner.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working on new construction plumbing projects in commercial environments.

  • Experience in repairing and servicing PVC pipe and other common commercial plumbing materials.

  • Comfort working independently at customer sites while managing time and tasks effectively.

Work Environment

You primarily work in commercial construction and commercial service environments, traveling to various customer sites to perform plumbing installations and repairs. The role involves working with common plumbing materials such as PVC and cast iron piping, using standard hand tools and mechanical equipment in active construction or operational commercial facilities. You spend much of your time on-site, often in partially finished or fully occupied buildings, where you must navigate typical construction conditions and follow safety protocols. Driving a company vehicle is a regular part of the role as you move between job locations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burton, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
