Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a skilled pipefitter to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial processing. The role requires at least 4 years of journeyman-level experience, NCCER, TWIC card, and a valid driver's license. On-site work in St. Gabriel, LA, with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

4 years of journeyman-level experience.
NCCER certification required.
Valid Driver's License and TWIC card required.

Responsibilities

Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specification with saws, torches, threaders, and bend tools.
Attach pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
Plan pipe layout, installation, or repair per specifications.
Select pipe sizes and materials per specifications.
Maintain and modify pipe systems, fittings and equipment as needed.
Install automatic controls for regulating pipe systems.
Turn valves to shut off steam, water or other gases/liquids.
Replace worn components and inspect work sites for obstructions.
Operate pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
Coat nonferrous piping with molten tin/lead as required.
