Bechtel seeks an experienced journeyman pipefitter in Houston, TX for industrial construction projects. The role requires reading isometric drawings, basic rigging, pipe layout, threading pipes, and joint preparation to meet codes.

You will participate in testing and commissioning of piping systems and support safe execution at height with fall protection. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in the field, strong planning skills, and ability to read piping diagrams and support drawings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in industrial construction as a journeyman pipefitter.
• Basic rigging skills required.
• Proficient with small power tools (die grinder, right angle grinder).
• Able to read and comprehend piping isometric drawings.
• Piping & instrument diagrams reading preferred.
• 3+ years in testing and commissioning of piping systems.
• Able to plan work efficiently.
• Weld joint preparation to meet codes and standards.
• Proficient in pipe lay-out and threading pipes.
• Able to read and comprehend support details/drawings.
• May assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials during installation.
• Cleans and maintains tools/equipment.
• Must safely traverse uneven terrain with tools/building materials.
• Must climb ladders and work from heights as needed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
• Understand use of personal fall arrest systems.
• Able to access scaffolds.

Responsabilités

• Perform pipefitting tasks per project drawings and specs.
• Assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials.
• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and use fall protection.
• Read isometric drawings and piping diagrams as required.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities where needed.
• Execute weld joint preparation to meet project standards.
• Layout pipes and thread piping with threading machines.
• Access scaffolds and work at heights as required.
