Job summary

GrayWolf is seeking Pipe Fitters for the Catawba, SC site. Journeyman level work includes fabricating butt weld, threaded, and socket weld pipe, installing piping, hangers, supports, valves, and inline specialties.

Candidates should be proficient in building from drawings and P&IDs and performing stress-relieving tests. The role requires strong math skills, tool proficiency, and safe execution of heavy industrial piping work in a field setting.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years minimum heavy industrial field experience as a Pipefitter.
• Able to correctly execute material take offs, calculate offsets and fit to fittings.
• Must have a locking tool box and the tools necessary to perform the job.
• Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pipefitting safety – work safely around hazards.
• Use hand, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely.
• Perform construction math including fractions, decimals, geometry and trig.
• Identify parts and interpret drawings and line lists.
• Read and interpret GPS coordinates, elevations and P&ID drawings.
• Identify and install valves and valving actuators.
• Identify pipe hangers and supports and determine placement.
• Read threaded joint drawings and calculate offsets.
• Identify fittings and read pipe drawings for socket weld/butt weld.
• Safely use rigging equipment and perform basic rigging procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
