Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Pipe Welder for our Baytown, TX location. You will join metal parts and pipes using arc, gas, and spot welding techniques guided by layouts, blueprints, and work orders.

You will also cut and shape metal with torches or plasma equipment and assist crane operators during lifts. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of journeyman welding experience, a TWIC card, and the ability to read specifications and measurements to ensure precise fits and safe, high-quality

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Journeyman level welding experience is required.
• Ability to join metal parts and interpret layouts and blueprints.
• Experience with heat, arc welding, torch and plasma cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weld or tack weld pieces using spot, electric, or gas welding equipment.
• Unite pipes from torch to gas tanks and manage valve operations.
• Preheat and prepare pieces for welding; inspect parts for specs.
• Signal crane operators and assist with lift planning for large pieces.
• Use cutting tools to dismount or trim metal as required.
• Ensure weld quality by measuring with straightedge or templates.
