Qualifications

• Journeyman-level Outside Machinist experience in ship repair or marine environments.
• Experience with rotating equipment and propulsion systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience performing overhauls, installations, repairs, and alignments.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, overhaul, install, and test marine machinery and equipment.
• Perform precision alignments and equipment fit-ups.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to verify dimensions.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs.
• Support hydrostatic testing, operational testing, and system checkouts.
• Complete required quality documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
