Propulsion Controls Engineering is seeking an Outside Machinist Journeyman to install, maintain, and repair ship propulsion and auxiliary systems at our Bremerton and Everett locations in Washington.

Candidates should have at least five years of marine and/or shipyard experience; familiarity with steam, gas turbine, diesel propulsion, hydraulics, and shipboard piping is a plus, with the ability to read repair references and drawings and work with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred.
• Marine Hydraulics or Marine Refrigeration a plus.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Ability to read repair references and drawings.
• Capable of following and applying repair references and drawings with precision measuring equipment.

Responsabilités

• Install, maintain, and repair ship propulsion and auxiliary systems (Steam, Gas Turbine, Diesel).
• Repair and test rudders, steering gear, deck equipment, and associated systems.
• Disassemble and inspect motors; replace parts such as gears, magneto points, piston rings, spark plugs.
• Test equipment to ensure systems meet specifications; follow drawings and use precision tools.

Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job opening for Outside MachinistJourneyman, with a m inimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred; at our Bremerton & Everett, Washington locations . PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.

Job Summary / Outside Machinist:

Capable of accomplishing the installation, maintenance, and repair of ship's propulsion and auxiliary systems including, but not limited to Steam, Gas Turbine, and Diesel propulsion systems, rudders and steering gear, elevators, and deck equipment without Supervision. Capable of accomplishing the installation repair, and maintenance of ship's fluid systems which include pumps, compressors, purifiers, heat exchangers, actuators and valves without Supervision.

Analyze defects and adjusts or repairs electrical mechanical systems of outboard motors. Disassembles and inspects motor for defective parts, using mechanical hand tools.

Replaces parts like gears., magneto points, piston rings and spark plugs and reassembles engine.

Capable of accomplishing the testing of equipment to ensure systems meet 4E specifications, references and drawings without Supervision. Capable of accomplishing the installation and testing of various shop equipment. Must have ability to follow repair references and drawings and be proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment. Performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

Job Requirements and Experience / Outside Machinist:

• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
