Job summary

MOL-SON II LLC in Mattawan, MI is seeking skilled Journeymen Mold Makers to join our team. You will build, modify, and repair precision plastic injection molds, mentor apprentices, and collaborate with design engineers on mold feasibility and function.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, coordinating with EDM/CNC/polishing, ensuring on-time delivery, training apprentices, and upholding safety and quality standards across the mold shop.

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading is required and essential.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and programming.
• Solid knowledge of mold design, build and function.
• Understanding of injection molding processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
• Familiarity with tool room equipment and machining.
• Ability to use hand-held measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Review tool designs (models and drawings).
• Identify areas for improved construction and ease of machining.
• Inform departments about project needs (EDM, CNC, polish, etc.).
• Coordinate with management to meet delivery dates.
• Ensure all mold components are received before final assembly.
• Train apprentices.
• Verify accuracy and quality of work performed by others.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
