Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services in the United States, Missouri, seeks a Journeyman with 3+ years of field experience to read blueprints, interpret plans, and install machinery per layout drawings. You will dismantle, move, install, align, and commission equipment, using hand tools, power tools, cranes, and hoists under supervision and safety rules.

This role requires building foundations, alignment, and routine maintenance, with opportunities for robotic installations and precision parts work.

Qualifications

• Requires reading blueprints and interpreting drawings to determine work procedures.
• Must be able to plan work and select proper tools.
• Able to work with precision and maintain safety standards.
• General knowledge of maintenance and repair in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor manuals, and drawings to determine procedures.
• Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and rails using cranes and power tools.
• Constructs foundations for machines using wood, cement and steel.
• Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks and measuring tools.
• Knowledge of optical and laser alignment is required.
• Assembles machines and bolts or welds to foundations or structures.
• Operates engine lathe to grind and part shapes as needed.
• May install robots and program them via teach pendant.
• Uses transit and level for equipment setting.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials and tools.
• Performs lubricating maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
