Qualifications

• Read blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
• Safely perform rigging with chain hoists, come-alongs, jacks and tuggers.
• Identify and install fasteners, anchors, gaskets and seals.
• Remove and install bearings; inspect and replace faulty parts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, gear boxes and conveyors.
• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature and outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Construction Drawings - competently read blueprints and schematics.
• Rigging - identify and use rigging equipment; pay attention to hand signals.
• Fasteners and Anchors - select and explain correct fasteners and anchors.
• Gaskets and O-Rings - identify types and install accordingly.
• Remove and Install Bearings - remove defective bearings and install replacements.
• Packing, seals, and mechanical seals - identify and install properly.
• Coupling - identify, explain, and install coupling types.
• Drives and Belts - install belt/chain drives and identify fans/blowers.
• Pumps and conveyors - understand operation and storage of motors.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting - inspect, install and remove pumps; troubleshoot gear boxes.
