METRO Regional Transit Authority is seeking a qualified technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain its fleet of buses in Akron, OH. You will perform major rebuilds, routine repairs, electrical tasks, and wheelchair lift servicing to ensure safe, reliable transit operations.
The role requires a high school diploma or GED, technical training, and two years of vehicle repair experience, with a valid CDL-B (passenger) within 12 months of hire. Strong safety focus and teamwork are essential.
Function of this classification shall be to diagnose, repair, and maintain METRO's fleet of vehicles.

The candidate is qualified to do all phases of bus repair, including but not limited to, major rebuilds, general and minor repairs, electrical repairs, preventative maintenance (bus inspections), and wheelchair lift repairs.
60% indoors, with exposure to diesel fumes, odors, dust, mists, smoke, gases, poor ventilation, noisy vibration, and hazards associated with the cleaning and repair of vehicles.
40% outdoors, with exposure to diesel fumes, odors, dust, mists, smoke, gases, poor ventilation, noisy vibration, and hazards associated with the cleaning and repair of vehicles.
High school diploma or G.E.D. Must be able to speak clearly, write legibly, and hear during ordinary conversation, see near and far and accurately judge depth perception. Must have written temporary or valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License Class B with passenger endorsement within twelve months of hire date. One (1) year relevant technical training or trade school, and two (2) years of experience in vehicle repair.
