Job summary

The Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Journey Maintenance Specialist to support state agencies with high-level maintenance, construction, and technical consultation.

This is a full-time, on-site role with diverse trades work, requires a valid Utah driver’s license, and on-call availability. Compensation aligns with union/state scales and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance, construction, or use of hand tools.
• Trade school training or background with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, performs repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Provides technical consultation for project orders, including plans and estimates.
• Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures and equipment from drawings.
• Welds, solders, brazes, and fabricates materials.
• Paints and finishes wood, metal, and other materials.
• Performs general facility maintenance across trades, including plumbing/electrical.
