Job summary

Bird, a Black & Veatch Company, is seeking a skilled lineman for installation and maintenance of electrical distribution and transmission systems. You will climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment, install and repair cables, and ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions. You will perform testing, splicing, and laying underground cables, while coordinating with

Qualifications

At least 4 years working experience as a lineman or equivalent in industrial construction.
Strong knowledge of installation or repair of cables or wires in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission lines.
Must have all necessary tools for the role as per Lineman Tool List.

Responsibilities

Install or repair cables and wires in electrical power or distribution systems.
Test conductors according to diagrams to ensure correct connections.
Climb poles or operate bucket trucks to access equipment.
Splice or join cables and components using clamps, soldering, or other approved methods.
Lay or replace underground cables in trenches or conduits as required.
Inspect lines and equipment and replace damaged poles or components as needed.
Coordinate work with other crews and ensure safety procedures are followed.
Participate in pre-job safety meetings and risk assessments.
