Job summary

Pcapower is seeking a journeyman lineman in Spartanburg, SC to install, maintain and repair transmission and distribution systems, overhead and underground, using line trucks, aerial booms, helicopters, ladders and lifts. The job involves working on live or dead circuits and directing trainees when needed.

Applicants should have 3 years formal training (or 8 years on-the-job), be able to read English, and be prepared to obtain a CDL Class B within 90 days of hire, plus pass a pre-employment drug

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years formal training or 8 years on-the-job experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Willing to obtain CDL Class B within 90 days of hire.
• Willing to submit and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Work outside with exposure to cold, heat, weather and noise.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair transmission/distribution lines both overhead and underground.
• Operate line trucks, aerial booms, ladders, lifts and wire-pulling equipment.
• Work on energized or de-energized circuits and supervise trainees where applicable.
