Job summary

AP&T is seeking a Journeyman Lineman for full-time work in Haines and Skagway, Alaska. You will construct, maintain and repair distribution and transmission circuits with emphasis on safety, teamwork, and the ability to travel between sites.

Offer includes a pay range of $60.00–$69.00 per hour DOE, plus a comprehensive benefits package, sign-on bonus up to $25,000 and relocation up to $10,000, plus stock ownership and other employee-focused perks.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or GED.
• Completion of accredited 4-year Lineman Apprenticeship.
• Hold a current Alaska certificate of fitness or obtain within 6 months.
• Must pass pre-employment checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and repair distribution and transmission circuits.
• Safely troubleshoot problems with electrical components from 120 V to 34,500 V.
• Properly size fuses and install transformers.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
• Install, remove and read single and three phase electrical meters.
• Maintain and repair power line hardware and substation equipment.
• Mentor and train Apprentices.
• Must be a safety conscious worker and respond to outages within 20 minutes.
