Job summary

City of Georgetown is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to perform on-site line construction for both overhead and underground installations. You will assemble transformers, switches, street lighting, and related equipment, while mentoring apprentices and operating aerial bucket platforms in energized environments.

The role requires completion of the City’s Line Technician Training Program or equivalent, a valid Class A CDL, and a commitment to on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of full-time related experience as an electrical lineman or documented training program.
• Journeyman Lineman certification and/or completion of City training program verification.
• Must have (or be able to obtain) Class A CDL Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform line construction for overhead and underground installations.
• Mentor Apprentce Line Technician trainees.
• Operate heavy machinery and perform pole work in energized environments.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic test equipment.
• Respond to outages and restore power safely and promptly.
