Job summary

Xcel Energy in Sterling, CO is seeking Journeyman Linemen to perform overhead and underground electric distribution work. You must live within 40 minutes of the Sterling Service Center and be able to climb poles safely.

The position requires completion of an apprenticeship, Journeyman certification, and a valid Class A CDL with medical examiner’s certificate. It includes on-call emergency responses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a qualified apprenticeship and Journeyman certification required.
• Must be willing to live within 40 minutes of the Sterling Service Center.
• Knowledge of distribution primary feeders, transformer loading, and fusing.
• Experience with meter sets, hot line tools, PPE, and OSHA rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of lineman involving overhead and underground systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts after hours and on weekends.
• Operate Line Construction equipment and perform distribution troubleshooting.
• Adhere to Safety Rules and avoid hazards in field service work.
