Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Journeyman Lineman in Colorado to maintain and construct both overhead and underground electric distribution systems. The role requires fieldwork, safety focus, and outage response capabilities.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, an active CDL-A with Medical Certificate, completed an apprenticeship, and Journeyman certification. Location is within 40 minutes of the Greeley Operations Center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Completed a qualified apprenticeship program and possess a Journeyman Lineman certification.
• Knowledge of distribution primary feeder circuits, transformer loading and connections, and fusing practices.
• Experience with electric meter sets and their connections.
• Knowledge of PPE and safety procedures per OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of lineman classification on overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts after normal work hours and on weekends.
• Operate Line Construction and Maintenance vehicles and related equipment.
• Demonstrate safe climbing and pole work.
• Maintain safety and work within Company safety rules.
