Job summary
Xcel Energy is seeking Journeyman Lineman / Advanced Step Apprentice to join the Montevideo Service Center in Montevideo, MN. The role involves construction, maintenance and emergency repairs on electric distribution and transmission systems within the Xcel Energy service area.
The successful candidate must live within 20 miles of the reporting HQ, possess a Journeyman certificate or Line School diploma, and be prepared to travel, work at heights, and adhere to safety standards.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must possess a degree/diploma from an accepted Line School or a state issued Journeyman certificate for an Advanced step position.
- Must possess a state issued Journeyman certificate and pass a company skills assessment for a Journeyman position.
- Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers is required.
Responsibilities
- Join an electric line crew and perform construction, maintenance and emergency repairs on overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.
- Reside within 20 miles of the reporting headquarters.
- Work safely and adhere to company rules and procedures.
