Job summary

A regional utility provider in Lancaster, Ohio, is seeking a Journeyman Line Worker to handle the installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Candidates must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and a high school diploma or equivalent. Safety is a priority; therefore, applicants are expected to adhere to safety practices. Qualifications

South Central Power Company has an immediate opening for aJourneyman Line Workerat ourLancaster, Ohiolocation.

Responsibilities will be assigned based on the successful candidate's level of training and experience but will include types of work involved with the installation, maintenance, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities, which includes substations. Safety is a top priority of South Central Power Company. Therefore, the successful candidate will have demonstrated safe work practices, exceptional communication skills, and be committed to playing an active role in safety.

Salary Range: $47.74 To $53.04 Hourly

Job Related Qualifications

What the job requires…

• Valid Class A, Commercial Driver’s License, and a current Department of Transportation Medical Examiners Certificate
• Must possess a high school degree or equivalent
• Successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol test and pre-employment physical
• Must successfully complete a pre-assessment verifying Journeyman Line Worker status as determined by the cooperative

Special Requirements

The awarded candidate will be required to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for scheduled or unscheduled assignments and reside within 30 miles of the Lancaster office.
