Qualifications

• 3-5 years of journeyman level experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects required material for construction.
• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Fastens steel members to cables of hoist using chain, cable or rope.
• Guides structure being lifted into proper position and aligns rivet holes.
• Drives drift pins through rivet holes.
• May assist in lifting, positioning and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
• Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level; bolts align members while temporary supports are removed.
• Bolts aligned structures to keep them in position until permanently riveted, bolted or welded.
