Job summary

The role involves reading blueprints, setting up hoisting equipment, fastening members, aligning assemblies, and ensuring proper rivet/bolt connections. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Language: read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and memos; must read and speak fluent English.
• Math: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of measure.
• Reasoning: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and select required material for construction.
• Set up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Fasten steel members to hoist cables using chain, cable or rope.
• Guide structure being lifted and align rivet holes.
• Drive drift pins through rivet holes.
• Verify alignment with plumb bob and level.
• Bolt structures to keep them in position until riveted, bolted or welded.
